QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Question:
What aircraft is the Tronair 01-0612-0000 towbar head attachment designed to support?
Answer:

The Tronair 01-0612-0000 towbar head attachment is engineered specifically for Falcon 50, 50EX, 900, 900EX, 2000, and 2000EX aircraft. It is built to properly interface with the aircraft tow point, ensuring controlled and secure ground handling. Using an aircraft-specific towbar head attachment helps reduce stress on the nose gear and minimizes the risk of towing damage. Proper fitment is essential for safe Falcon aircraft towing operations.

Asked March 2, 2026
Question:
What towbar models is this multi-head compatible with?
Answer:

This Tronair multi-head attachment is designed for use with approved Tronair Multi-Head Towbar models 01-1201-0010, 01-1202-0000, 01-1215-0000, 01-1216-0000, and 01-1290-0100. It must only be used with matching Tronair towbars and shear pins to maintain proper load protection. Using non-approved combinations can compromise safety and void warranty coverage. Always verify compatibility before towing operations.

Asked March 2, 2026
Question:
What is the maximum aircraft gross weight rating for this towbar head?
Answer:

The 01-0612-0000 towbar head attachment is rated for aircraft with a maximum gross weight of 49,000 lbs (22.2 metric tons). Staying within this limit helps prevent excessive loads and stresses on the towbar and aircraft nose gear. Exceeding weight recommendations can increase the risk of towbar failure. Always confirm aircraft weight before towing.

Asked March 2, 2026
Question:
Why is the shear pin system important on this towbar head?
Answer:

The shear pin assembly is a critical safety component that protects both the towbar and the aircraft during towing. If excessive force is applied, the shear pin is designed to fail before structural damage occurs. This helps prevent costly aircraft repairs and potential safety hazards. Only Tronair-specified shear pins and bushings should be used for replacement.

Asked March 2, 2026
Question:
What inspections should be performed before using the towbar head?
Answer:

Operators should inspect welds for cracks, check for bent components, verify that axle adapters are secure, and confirm that the shear pin and bushings are in good condition. The axle locking mechanism should spring back and positively secure the adapters. Any damaged or bent components should be removed from service immediately. Routine inspection helps ensure safe and compliant aircraft towing.

Asked March 2, 2026
Question:
What are the recommended towing practices to prevent equipment damage?
Answer:

It is recommended to attach the towbar head to the aircraft first and then connect it to the tug. Maintaining a level towbar angle during towing helps reduce binding and structural stress. Excessive towing angles should be avoided to prevent damage to both the tug and aircraft. Proper coupling selection and alignment are essential for smooth ground handling operations.

Asked March 2, 2026
Question:
Why is proper tug compatibility important when using this towbar head?
Answer:

Tronair recommends using the towbar with a Category 1 or Category 2 tug and aircraft with a gross weight not exceeding 75,000 lbs. Using incompatible equipment can result in excessive loading and potential towbar failure. Proper tug selection ensures balanced force distribution during pushback or repositioning. Following these guidelines enhances safety and reduces liability risk.

Asked March 2, 2026
Question:
What happens if the towbar head is modified or used with non-OEM parts?
Answer:

The product must not be modified without written approval from Tronair. Unauthorized modifications void warranties and release Tronair from liability. Only Tronair OEM replacement parts should be used to maintain structural integrity and compliance. Using non-approved parts may compromise safety during aircraft towing.

Asked March 2, 2026
Question:
What warranty coverage applies to the 01-0612-0000 towbar head?
Answer:

The Tronair 01-0612-0000 towbar head attachment is covered by a one-year warranty against manufacturing or material defects. Replacement parts typically carry a 90-day warranty from the date of shipment. Warranty coverage is limited to repair or replacement of defective components. Proper use, inspection, and adherence to operational guidelines help preserve warranty protection.
