The Tronair 01-1270-0010 is a heavy-duty multi-head aircraft towbar engineered for compatibility with the Tronair Series 800 Multi-Heads. Designed for flexibility and durability, this aircraft towbar makes it easy to service a wide range of aircraft with one core system, saving both hangar space and capital investment.
Built with welded aluminum construction, the towbar features 10" pneumatic tires, a steel skid at the tug end, and a spring-dampened eyebolt at the towing end to absorb shock loads and protect nose gear during towing. A positive locking pin ensures secure attachment of the towbar head, which can be changed in seconds to fit specific aircraft applications.
Note: The multi-head towbar requires a towbar head to match your aircraft. When requesting a quote, please provide your aircraft model so we can pair this unit with the right towbar head.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Tronair recommends attaching the towbar to the aircraft first before connecting to the tug. This reduces the risk of accidental aircraft damage. Operators should also ensure the towbar remains level during towing, adjusting the pintle hook height so the tube doesn’t strike the ground.
Not all couplers are compatible. Lift head, swivel hook, standard duty latch, and vertical side swing latch couplers may cause binding and damage to the lunette eye. Tronair instead recommends using a telecoupler pintle hook, such as the 01-1950-5000 Standard Telecoupler, which eliminates binding and ensures smooth towing operations.
The 01-1270-0010 integrates a heavy-duty shock assembly with a spring designed to absorb and dampen shock loads. This reduces stress on the aircraft’s nose gear during towing starts, stops, and turns. A proper shock assembly helps extend the longevity of both the towbar and the aircraft component.
The towbar is equipped with 10” pneumatic wheels and an upright handle, making it relatively easy to maneuver by hand on flat surfaces. However, for longer distances or shipping, operators should use proper lifting equipment, such as a forklift, and crate the unit securely to prevent damage.
Tronair recommends weekly inspections, including checking the towing eye, shock assembly, welds, tires, and casters for wear or damage. Axles should be greased every 90 days to 6 months, and all fasteners should be verified tight. Proper preventative maintenance helps operators maximize equipment life and reduce downtime.
Tronair provides a one-year warranty against manufacturing or material defects from the date of shipment. Replacement parts carry a 90-day warranty, and all claims must be authorized by Tronair with a return material authorization (RMA). Unauthorized modifications or use outside of the specified guidelines will void the warranty.
