QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
The Tronair 02A7897C0100 aircraft tripod jack is engineered to support Boeing 737 maintenance procedures that require stable lifting at fuselage or wing jacking points. Its OEM-approved design helps maintenance technicians perform inspections, landing gear servicing, brake replacement, and tire changes with greater confidence. The jack’s high maximum lifting height of 152” also provides additional versatility for larger narrow-body aircraft applications. Proper use alongside approved aircraft jacking procedures helps improve safety and operational efficiency.
The built-in ladder and work platform provide technicians with safer and more convenient access to upper jack controls and adjustment points during aircraft lifting operations. This elevated access can help improve operator visibility and control when positioning the jack under the aircraft. The platform design also supports more ergonomic operation during repetitive maintenance tasks. These features can help reduce setup time and improve overall workflow efficiency in hangar environments.
Keeping the aircraft level during lifting operations helps minimize uneven stress on the airframe and improves overall stability. Tronair specifically instructs operators to raise and lower all aircraft jacks simultaneously to maintain proper balance. This is especially important during maintenance on Boeing 737 aircraft, where uneven lifting could affect structural alignment. Following proper leveling procedures also helps protect technicians working around the aircraft.
The integrated bubble level helps technicians verify that the tripod jack is properly aligned before lifting begins. Accurate vertical positioning helps reduce side loading on the hydraulic cylinder and improves lifting stability. Tronair recommends checking the bubble level every six months to maintain proper calibration and performance. Proper alignment is an important part of safe aircraft maintenance operations.
The Tronair 02A7897C0100 features a Haskel pneumatic-hydraulic pump system that helps provide efficient, controlled lifting performance. Pneumatic pumps are widely used in aviation maintenance because they can deliver smooth hydraulic pressure while reducing manual pumping effort. The system operates at a recommended air pressure of 90 to 100 PSI, helping technicians raise aircraft more efficiently during maintenance procedures. This design can improve productivity in busy MRO and airline maintenance facilities.
Routine preventative maintenance is important for preserving hydraulic performance and operational safety. Tronair recommends checking hydraulic fluid levels before each use, lubricating casters every three months, and performing annual capacity testing at 105% to 110% of rated load. The manual also advises protecting the ram seals from direct water exposure and applying a compatible lubricant during long-term storage. Consistent maintenance helps maximize reliability and service life.
The ram locknut acts as a mechanical safety device that helps prevent unintended lowering of the aircraft if hydraulic pressure is lost. Tronair instructs operators to keep the ram locknut within one inch of the extending ram while lifting or lowering the aircraft. This added layer of protection is especially important when technicians are working beneath or around elevated aircraft. Proper use of the locknut helps support safer maintenance operations and compliance with aviation safety procedures.
The heavy-duty caster system and integrated towbar enable maintenance personnel to reposition the aircraft jack efficiently throughout the hangar or ramp. Tronair’s towing instructions include locking the rear casters into alignment for controlled movement while allowing the front caster to swivel freely for maneuverability. This mobility helps reduce setup time and supports smoother movement between maintenance locations. The jack can also be safely towed at speeds up to 5 mph.
CE certification indicates that the Tronair 02A7897C0100 complies with applicable European machinery safety standards and regulations. This can be especially valuable for international airlines, MRO providers, and aviation operators that require globally recognized compliance documentation. The declaration of conformity references compliance with European Community Directive 2006/42/EC and EN ISO 12100-1 safety standards. Using CE-marked aircraft jacks can help support regulatory compliance and operational consistency across global maintenance facilities.
Tronair recommends storing the jack with the ram fully retracted to help protect internal hydraulic components and seals. The manual also notes that the jack can be stored outdoors if covered with a waterproof tarp or canvas. For low-usage periods longer than 90 days, technicians should fully extend the ram and apply a compatible water-repellent lubricant to help prevent corrosion. Proper storage practices can help maintain the long-term performance and reliability of aircraft jacks.
