QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Question:
What is the primary function of the Tronair 06-4005-0800 component pressure test unit?
Answer:

The Tronair 06-4005-0800 component pressure test unit supplies clean, pressurized hydraulic fluid for testing and servicing aircraft components. Maintenance technicians commonly use it to fill reservoirs, bleed brake systems, and perform other hydraulic maintenance procedures. By providing controlled hydraulic pressure, the unit helps verify system performance and component integrity. This makes it a valuable tool for aircraft maintenance facilities and repair stations.

Asked March 18, 2026
Question:
Which aircraft maintenance tasks can this pressure test unit support?
Answer:

The Tronair 06-4005-0800 pressure test unit supports several hydraulic maintenance procedures, including brake bleeding, reservoir filling, and component pressure testing. These tasks help technicians confirm that hydraulic systems are functioning properly after repairs or maintenance. The ability to deliver controlled hydraulic pressure allows mechanics to test components safely and efficiently. Such testing is essential for maintaining aircraft safety and performance.

Asked March 18, 2026
Question:
Why is fluid cleanliness important when using a component pressure test unit?
Answer:

Hydraulic systems in aircraft require extremely clean fluid to operate correctly and prevent damage to internal components. The Tronair pressure test unit incorporates filtration to help remove contaminants before fluid enters the system. Maintaining clean hydraulic fluid helps protect valves, actuators, and seals from premature wear. This contributes to longer system life and more reliable aircraft operation.

Asked March 18, 2026
Question:
What role does the isolation valve play during pressure testing?
Answer:

The isolation valve on the Tronair component pressure test unit allows technicians to hold and maintain pressure within the system during testing procedures. Once the desired pressure is reached, the valve can be closed to prevent fluid from flowing back through the system. This helps maintain stable pressure for accurate testing results. The valve also allows operators to safely relieve pressure after testing is complete.

Asked March 18, 2026
Question:
How does the pressure gauge help ensure accurate testing?
Answer:

The pressure gauge on the Tronair 06-4005-0800 unit allows technicians to monitor hydraulic pressure during servicing or testing operations. Accurate pressure readings help confirm that components are operating within specified limits. This is especially important when testing hydraulic systems that require precise pressure levels. Monitoring pressure also helps prevent accidental overpressurization.

Asked March 18, 2026
Question:
What maintenance procedures help keep the pressure test unit operating reliably?
Answer:

Routine inspection and maintenance help ensure consistent performance from the Tronair pressure test unit. Operators should periodically check hoses, fittings, and seals for leaks or wear. Filters should also be replaced according to usage or maintenance schedules to maintain fluid cleanliness. These practices help keep the unit operating safely and efficiently.

Asked March 18, 2026
Question:
How do technicians relieve pressure after completing a test?
Answer:

After completing a test or servicing procedure, technicians must safely relieve system pressure before disconnecting equipment. This is typically done by opening the release screw and isolation valve to allow hydraulic pressure to dissipate. Proper pressure relief prevents sudden fluid discharge and protects both personnel and equipment. Following the recommended procedure ensures safe operation during maintenance tasks.

Asked March 18, 2026
Question:
What types of hydraulic fluids are compatible with the 06-4005-0800 pressure test unit?
Answer:

The Tronair 06-4005-0800 model is designed for use with specific aviation hydraulic fluids such as MIL-L-23699 and MIL-PRF-87257. Using the correct fluid type is essential to prevent contamination or compatibility issues within the hydraulic system. The appropriate fluid type should always be verified before servicing aircraft components. Correct fluid selection helps maintain system integrity and testing accuracy.

Asked March 18, 2026
Question:
What warranty coverage applies to the Tronair component pressure test unit?
Answer:

Tronair provides a one-year warranty against manufacturing or material defects from the date of shipment to the original customer. If a defect occurs during this period, Tronair may repair or replace the affected components following inspection. Warranty coverage may be voided if the equipment is modified or used improperly. Using approved parts and following the manufacturer's instructions help maintain warranty eligibility.
