QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Question:
How is the lavatory cart transported around the ramp?
Answer:

The unit is equipped with a towbar and 8” pneumatic tires for easy maneuverability across hangar floors and ramp surfaces. The cart can be safely towed at speeds up to 10 mph (16 km/h), allowing quick repositioning during turnarounds. Its compact size and balanced design make it manageable both by hand and when connected to a tug.

Asked August 28, 2025
Question:
What makes the tanks durable and long-lasting?
Answer:

Both the 15-gallon fill tank and 31-gallon dump tank are constructed from high-density polyethylene with UV inhibitors. This material resists corrosion from chemicals and sunlight exposure, ensuring long-term durability. Unlike metal tanks, polyethylene is lightweight, easy to clean, and resistant to cracking or rusting over time.

Asked August 28, 2025
Question:
How does the drain-back system improve cleanliness?
Answer:

The cart features a drain-back system on the fill hose that prevents residual fluid from spilling when disconnecting from the aircraft. This not only keeps the ramp area clean but also reduces the risk of crew exposure to chemicals or waste. It’s a small but important safety and hygiene feature built into the design.

Asked August 28, 2025
Question:
Are there built-in storage solutions for hoses?
Answer:

Yes, the lavatory service cart includes storage tubes specifically designed for stowing both the fill and dump hoses. This prevents hoses from dragging on the ground, minimizes damage, and keeps everything organized between uses. Proper stowage also helps maintain a sanitary working environment.

Asked August 28, 2025
Question:
What type of pumps does the cart use for service operations?
Answer:

The 10-4036-0001 uses heavy-duty manual diaphragm pumps for both fill and dump operations. The fill pump delivers one gallon of fluid per six strokes, while the dump pump has a discharge capacity of up to 30 gallons per minute. These pumps are simple, durable, and reliable in field conditions.

Asked August 28, 2025
Question:
What safety measures should be taken before towing the cart?
Answer:

Operators should verify that the tire pressure is set to a maximum of 50 psi (3.45 bar) and confirm that all hose connections are secure before moving the cart. The lavatory cart should only be towed on stable surfaces and never exceed its maximum speed rating of 10 mph (16 km/h). Regular inspection of wheel bearings and lubrication also ensures safe operation.

Asked August 28, 2025
Question:
How often should the lavatory cart be maintained?
Answer:

Routine maintenance includes lubricating wheel and swivel plate bearings every six months and checking hose clamps periodically. Tanks and hoses should be washed with mild detergent according to local health and safety regulations. Regular inspections for leaks or damage are critical to maintaining performance and safety standards.

Asked August 28, 2025
Question:
What troubleshooting steps are available if a pump fails?
Answer:

If the fill or dump pump fails, operators are instructed to check for clogged suction or discharge hoses and verify that nozzles are clear. Disassembly may be required to inspect internal pump components for wear or damage. Tronair provides detailed illustrated parts lists for ordering replacement components or repair kits.

Asked August 28, 2025
Question:
What warranty coverage does Tronair provide for this unit?
Answer:

The lavatory cart is backed by a one-year limited warranty against manufacturing or material defects. Replacement parts generally carry a 90-day warranty from the shipment date. Warranty claims require contacting Tronair for authorization before shipping the unit back for inspection or service.
