Was also well crated.
The condition and arrival date was accurate.
The packing list had multiple copies which is convenient.

There was not advertising in crate - very good as we repurpose the crates for other items and other clients. The unit its self has not been put to use yet. However it seems to be in perfect order. .

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Question:
What is the rated capacity of the Tronair 03A5800C0010 tail stand?
Answer:

The Tronair 03A5800C0010 aircraft tail stand has a capacity of 1,000 lbs (454 kg). This rating helps ensure the unit can safely stabilize an aircraft during maintenance when used in accordance with approved procedures. Always confirm that the expected load does not exceed the tail stand’s rated capacity before use.

Asked August 10, 2023
Question:
What does the alarm on this aircraft tail stand do?
Answer:

This tail stand includes an alarm system that alerts the operator when 100 to 150 lbs of force is applied to the top of the cradle. When triggered, it sounds a loud 85 dB pulsating alarm until the force is reduced. This provides an added safety cue during aircraft stabilization and maintenance activity.

Asked January 29, 2026
Question:
How do you test the alarm before using the tail stand?
Answer:

Tronair outlines an alarm test process that involves applying force evenly to the cradle until the head lowers and engages the limit switch. The alarm should activate when the applied force falls within the 100- to 150-lb range. If the alarm does not sound, the manual recommends troubleshooting the battery, the alarm unit, the wiring, or the limit switch.

Asked January 29, 2026
Question:
Does this tail stand require a battery?
Answer:

Yes. The alarm system is battery-powered and uses a 9-volt battery. If the alarm “chirps” every 20 to 30 seconds, that indicates a low battery and it should be replaced. Testing the alarm and battery before use helps confirm that the warning system is operating correctly.

Asked January 29, 2026
Question:
How should this tail stand be positioned during aircraft maintenance?
Answer:

Tronair specifies that the aircraft should be jacked to the desired height first, then the tail stand should be placed on a hard, level surface at the aircraft manufacturer’s recommended stabilization point. The cradle should be raised as close to the aircraft as possible before inserting and seating the extension locking pin. Proper placement helps prevent instability and reduces the risk of improper loading.

Asked January 29, 2026
Question:
What safety precautions should technicians follow when using this tail stand?
Answer:

Technicians should avoid pinch points while lowering the extension and should never place their hands between the aircraft and the cradle. The manual also warns not to load the tail stand by lowering jacks and to always remove the tail stand before lowering the aircraft. Wearing safety glasses is also recommended during operation.

Asked January 29, 2026
Question:
Does this tail stand come load-tested from the manufacturer?
Answer:

No. This tail stand does not include a load-test certificate. While the alarm is designed to sound when approximately 100 to 150 lbs (45.36 to 68.04 kg) of force is applied to the cradle, the tail stand itself is not provided with a load-test certificate, and the Certificate of Conformity (CofC) is the primary documentation supplied. If your operation requires formal load-test documentation for equipment tracking or compliance purposes, contact our aviation specialists for guidance before ordering.

Asked January 29, 2026
Question:
Is the Tronair 03A5800C0010 tail stand CE-compliant?
Answer:

Yes. The Tronair 03A5800C0010 tail stand is listed as CE-compliant, and the manual includes a Declaration of Conformity referencing the applicable European machinery directives. This can be important for operators supporting international maintenance environments or facilities that require CE-marked ground support equipment. If you need documentation for internal compliance records, our team can help confirm what is provided with the shipment.

Asked January 29, 2026
Question:
What is the correct way to install the extension locking pin?
Answer:

The extension locking pin must be inserted fully through the extension tube, with the washer and ball lock positioned outside the tube. Tronair also warns against using damaged locking pins or deformed extension tubes, as improper pin placement can create unsafe conditions. Following the locking pin instructions is essential for maintaining the unit’s rated load capacity.

Asked January 29, 2026
Question:
How often should this tail stand be maintained?
Answer:

Tronair recommends periodic maintenance, including an annual cradle inspection (or as needed), caster lubrication every three months, and cleaning annually (or as needed). The manual also notes not to pressure-wash or spray water directly onto the cradle, which helps protect components and the alarm system. Routine maintenance supports safe operation and long-term reliability.
